Transmultimedia Entertainment specializes in documentary film and television production. We have produced films that have appeared on American and European television, along with numerous DVD featurettes for Warner Home Video, Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate Entertainment. Projects have also been distributed on Amazon Prime Video. The theatrical release of Cooper & Hemingway: The True Gen premiered in theaters in both Los Angeles and New York City. The film was featured and reviewed by The New York Times film critic Andy Webster and was named a NY Times Critics' Pick by Manohla Dargis, Anthony Oliver Scott and Stephen Holden. Webster said the documentary was proof that the work of these two men "endures and so does what they stood for."

We create media support including; graphics and poster design, website production, social media, press and marketing. Transmultimedia has written and produced numerous films that have received awards at numerous film festivals nationally. We create packages and file delivery for all online streaming services including; Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Apple TV and many more. Transmultimedia Entertainment utilizes professional grade broadcast equipment and software for submission to Network Television and we do our own quality control in house. We also produce digital cinema packages for theatrical release of films.

Richard Zampella

Producer/Editor

Richard Zampella is an American Film and Television Producer and Managing Partner of Transmultimedia Entertainment. His interest in American film history and technical expertise in documentary production is an extension of his role as a Preservationist who owns and operates Idylease, a Historic Landmark Hotel called Idylease. It is located 38 geographic miles from New York City in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains in Northwest, New Jersey.

Both John Mulholland and Richard Zampella have collaborated on numerous television and film projects for more than fifteen years. In 2013 they received a Critics’ Pick from The New York Times for the feature-length documentary Cooper & Hemingway: The True Gen. In 2023, they produced two documentaries for American Public Television that were broadcast on public television stations nationwide and on PBS America in the UK.

John Mulholland

Writer/Director

John Mulholland is a New York City-based writer, director and film historian. He worked on his first documentary, Eastern European Composers, for the Arts Network. Over his three-decade career, he has interviewed everyone from President Bill Clinton and Crown Prince Albert of Monaco to Kirk Douglas and Charlton Heston. Mulholland cites noted directors such as Fred Zinnemann, William Wyler and Billy Wilder as favorite directors from classic Hollywood.
